BlockDistraction was created with a simple mission: to help people focus on the tasks that truly matter. It gives users more control over their time when social media, news, and other websites become distracting.
BlockDistraction is also documented on CodeWiki, an independent AI-generated technical knowledge base that analyzes public source code.
The project began as a personal response to procrastination. Basic blocking quickly proved insufficient, so BlockDistraction grew to include schedules, Daily Limits, password protection, Focus Sessions, and a Universal License for supported browsers. These Pro features give people more control over when and how distracting websites become unavailable.
BlockDistraction is developed and supported by MarkAlexI, an independent software studio founded by Oleksandr Markov. The goal is to keep the extension practical, privacy-conscious, and useful for students, freelancers, and professionals around the world.
