The extension isn't blocking sites. How to fix permissions?

For BlockDistraction to work, it needs permission to "read and change data on websites" (this is standard for all blockers to detect URLs). If the onboarding page didn't appear, enable it manually:

  1. Right-click the BlockDistraction icon in your toolbar.
  2. Select "Manage Extension".
  3. Go to the "Permissions" or "Site Access" section.
  4. Ensure "Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit" is turned ON (or set to "On all sites").

Without this permission, the blocker cannot see which site you are visiting and cannot block it.

Is my browsing data safe? Do you track history?

Yes, your data is safe. BlockDistraction runs locally on your device. We do not track, collect, or send your browsing history, passwords, or search queries to any server. Your blocked sites list stays private on your browser.

How do I activate Pro features?

It's simple! Log in to your My Account page to find your unique License Key. Copy it, open the BlockDistraction extension Options, and paste the key into the "Pro" section. The features will unlock immediately.

I just paid. Where is my License Key and subscription?

Your License Key is generated immediately and will appear on your Account Dashboard right after payment. You can use it to activate Pro instantly.

Note: The "Manage Subscription" button and billing details may take 1-2 minutes to appear while we sync with our payment provider. If you don't see them yet, simply refresh the page after a few minutes.

Does it work on Opera, Edge, or Brave?

Yes! BlockDistraction runs perfectly on all Chromium-based browsers.

  • Edge & Brave: You can install the extension directly from the Chrome Web Store.
  • Opera: Install from the Chrome Web Store. If prompted, click "Allow extensions from other stores" or "Install Chrome Extensions" to proceed.
How do I use it on Android (Mobile)?

BlockDistraction works on Android using browsers that support extensions:

  • Firefox for Android: Install BlockDistraction from the Firefox Add-ons store.

Tip: In Firefox, access the extension settings via the main browser menu (three dots) -> Extensions.

Does the Pro license cover all my devices?

Yes! With our Universal License, your single subscription covers all your browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge) and devices (PC, Mac, Android). Simply use the same License Key everywhere.

How can I manage or cancel my subscription?

You can manage your plan, update payment methods, or cancel anytime directly from your My Account page. Click the "Open Customer Portal" button in the subscription section to access your secure billing settings.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all purchases. If you are not satisfied, simply contact support within 14 days of your payment to request a full refund, no questions asked.

You can read the full details on our Refund Policy page.

Can I change my subscription plan (e.g., from Monthly to Annual)?

Yes, you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time.

To do this:

  1. Go to the My Account page.
  2. Scroll down to the "Subscription Details" section.
  3. Click on the "Manage Subscription / Change Plan" button.

You will be redirected to a secure page provided by our payment partner, Paddle. There you can select a new plan. The price will be automatically prorated (adjusted based on what you've already paid).

Why does a blocked site briefly open on Firefox Mobile?

On Firefox for Android, a blocked website may briefly attempt to open before being redirected or blocked. This behavior is caused by a platform limitation in the browser itself.

The site is still blocked correctly, and no data is loaded or saved. This does not occur on desktop browsers or most Chromium-based mobile browsers.

How do I enable and use Debug Mode?

Debug Mode is a Pro feature designed for troubleshooting and transparency. It logs internal extension events—such as button clicks, status changes, and rule updates – directly to the browser console.

To enable it, navigate to the Settings page and toggle the Debug Mode option via the input field. Once active, open your browser's Developer Tools (F12 or Right Click > Inspect) to see color-coded logs containing the event source, timestamp, and context.
